Amnesia is one of the most famous clubs at Ibiza. They have a grand opening party for this year at 11th of June. They have decided to create a marketing partnership with BlackBerry.
They are promoting BlackBerry SmartPhones and PlayBook Tablet on their web site, as well as inside the club. Their stuff will use BlackBerry devices to do their work.
The first step into this direction was to enable their door staff to capture BlackBerry PIN numbers from their customers. These numbers will be used for the promotional purposes, discounts, prize draws (for example they are giving away 10 BlackBerry PlayBooks). This will result in both promoting BlackBerry and Amnesia Ibiza to the wide audience (Just on Facebook Amnesia has almost 300,000 followers)
To design the application for the door staff BlackBerry has chosen the Croatian developers Codeten. Codeten is a partnership of the BlackBerry developers which has developed a large number of BlackBerry applications for consumers as well as for businesses.
For this project Codeten had a very short time to create and test this application, and they have delivered it before the deadline. The application has been designed exactly to the specifications, and it was specially designed to be used in the busy periods, where the scanning of the large numbers PIN QR bar codes is done very fast and the data is delivered to Amnesia club in the real time.
The application also recognizes if the scanned QR code does not represent BlackBerry PIN number and notifies the user straight away so they can try again.
This is just the beginning of the cooperation between BlackBerry, Amnesia and Codeten, and more features are coming soon.
